Our Words Matter to God. God created us to speak in ways that give life and fruit. There was a time in human history that communication between God and Adam and Eve was perfect. Always loving, truthful, caring, wise, thoughtful, kind, etc. There was a time that no one was hurt or sinned against by the way we communicated. But we know that we often do not speak in ways that give life or fruit. Our words to others and even to ourselves at times are sinful, discouraging, and destructive. What happened?

This Sunday we will see that another speaks in the Garden and his words are evil and deceptive. He attempts to usurp the authority and truth of God. Reflect on Genesis 3. Remember, my brothers and sisters, the Master Creator and Communicator has sent His Hope-Giving Son to provide us grace and power in our struggle with our words.
